Life Without Loss

Transformation defined by the dictionary is this: “an act of transforming or transformation.” Whoever made that up got EXTREMELY creative on that one! It’s funny to me that such a powerful impacting word could have such a little, insignificant meaning…but I’ll get back to this in a minute.

This New Years I’ve decided not to go ahead with having a New Years resolution that I KNOW I won’t hold up to it. Instead, I’m choosing to have goals and challenge myself daily. This past year has been one of constant learning experiences, something of which I am both grateful and regretful for. But what is life without loss? In my opinion, the hard times are what make us people of humility and people of character. I want to make this year a time of transformation, passion, motivation, songwriting, excitement, and repair… which is definitely something 2010 didn’t offer me, but more importantly I didn’t allow it to get to me. I’m not sure what went wrong along the way, but what does it matter now that I’m finally doing something to change it.

So back to transformation, it’s the goal in mind here. But I’m not quite sure how I am going to achieve this. All I know is that I can only live in TODAY, and therefor there’s no need to worry about tomorrow, or yesterday for that matter. So, as I continue to blog this year, be patient with me as I document the good, the bad, and the ugly. Because trust me, transformation does not start out pretty. I’m excited for the things I’m capable of. More than anyone knows.

As I finish this first blog, i’ll leave you with a quote from Immortal Technique. (yes, a rapper!) “You can make the future, but it starts with LEAVING THE PAST.”
